update on the 9 pin tournament

We had lots of great bowling the last couple of weeks.  Lots of 300 games thrown and one real 300 with all natural strikes.  Since the tournament was santioned he qualifies for a ring.  A few years back he threw a real 300 game during our 9 pin when it wasn't sanctioned.  So he is pretty excited.  He bowled a 300 during league play in Belle Fourche a couple of years ago.   So he will now have rings for both hands.  In case you haven't figured it out yet it was Mr. Walt Taylor.
Casey Nelson qualifies for 11 in a row.  And Jay Smith had four 300 games all in one day.  Two in each set he bowled.  But no 11 in a row.  How does that happen?   Ask Jay.  At any rate, GREAT bowling.
I need to get with some bowling secretaries around the area to verify averages so allow me some time for that.  But here some unofficial results.  Pay out 1 for 6

Thanks to everyone who came out to support our local youth.  The State Bowling trip to Sioux Falls will be  a costly one and this definitely helped.  We are still short of our goal so if anyone has some quick fundraising ideas or belongs to any groups or know of any businesses that could help out with some cash donations that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much from the Lead Dwd Youth Bowling Association.

Pepsi Championships for the youth age 11 & under

The official results are in for the younger youth Pepsi Championship.  For the Lead/Deadwood area Isabel Fredericksen took 1st place for the girls and Conner Shand 1st place  for the boys.  Tristen Fierbach placed 7th for the boys.   Great bowling!!!!  Conner just got a new bowling ball the week before so this was very exciting for him.  Just goes to show you what your own equipment can mean.
The older kids just went this weekend to Mitchell so will be an update on them soon.

High School Youth going to Pepsi Tournament

The High School kids will be heading to Mitchell next weekend for the Pepsi Tournament.  We have a least 10 participating this year which is the most we have had for a long time.
The Bantam group had their Pepsi Tournament the first weekend of March.  I believe we had one girl and one boy from our group take 1st place.  Just waiting on the final word on that.

And last week we had one of our High School bowlers bowl a 626 series.  Give Colt Nelson a high-five the next time you see him.

We are raffling off 2 bowling balls along with hotel rooms from some prime spots in Deadwood and Lead.  We also have the hand made quilts, hand made dreamcatcher, Saloon #10 jacket, year pass at the Lead Rec Center and many other great items. So come bowl for a good cause and support our youth bowlers.
I also want to thank the kids that came out to help this weekend along with the adults.  It's not a one man operation and I do appreciate all the help.

More info on 9 Pin Tournament

Just wanted to give a little more information on the 9 pin tournament being held at Bed Rock Lanes. We start tonite.  This is a fundraiser to help our youth bowling program.  Our youth are going to Sioux Falls the end of April to the State Bowling Tournament.   We have a reserved to haul most of us down plus hotel rooms for 40 kids.  So it is very expensive but worth it for the youth.
We have lots of great door prizes and some great raffle items.  We have 3 hand made quilts by a couple of crafty and generous ladies from our association, a locally hand made dream catcher, hotel rooms,  a season pass the Northern Hills Rec Center and even a couple of high end bowling balls.
Justin and Warren have been working on the lanes and getting them up to speed.  Should be a great tournament so come out and support our youth and the community while having some fun.
We have included a Friday nite shift but you need to call and make reservations at 584-9013 so an official is there and the lanes are open.
